Abstract

336,853. Wheeler, H. R. Nov. 29, 1929. Moulding walls in situ.- Shutters for casting walls in situ are attached to a cross-bar 3 and are raised step-by-step at the end of each casting stage by means of a gripping device moving on the vertical guides 2, which may be positioned inside or outside the cast wall. The cross-bar 3 is attached by bars 5 to a sleeve 4 surrounding the guide-bar, and to the sleeve 4 are pivoted the levers 6 having slots 12 to engage pins 11 on the lower ends of links 9 to the upper ends of which are pivoted the scissors jaws 8 surrounding the guide-bar. The cross-bar 3 is also provided with a scissors grip 20, 21 and springs 18, 22 are used to urge the jaws into gripping position. As the levers are depressed, the upper jaws 8 grip the guide-bar and the lower jaws 20 are released so that the sleeve and cross-bar move upwardly. On release of the levers, the weight on the cross-bar causes the lower jaws 20 to grip and the upper jaws are released and slide up the guide-bar to a new position.
