719,326. Turbine blades. ALLEN SONS & CO., Ltd., W. H., and HAYES, C. W. Jan. 6, 1953 [Feb. 26, 1952], No. 4981/52. Class 110(3) In a turbine in which the blade roots are mounted in a circumferential groove in the periphery of the rotor, the final blade or blades 15 is or are carried by a block or closing piece 5 which can be inserted into a gate or entry slot 1, the sides of which. extend transversely with respect to the circumferential groove and are formed as at 4 for interengagement with the corresponding sides of the closing piece. The closing piece may be formed with a groove 9 in which the root portions 7 of the blades 15 carried thereby are engaged. The closing piece may have a cross-section corresponding to that of the grooved portion of the rotor periphery. The entry slot 1 extends right across the rim of the rotor in the embodiment shown.
