Class 68(1) [Also in Group XXX] An apparatus which can be used as a crane, a loader or an excavator comprises a jib 4 pivoted at 3 to a slueing base 1, an arm 9 pivoted to the jib at 8 and carrying the bucket or hook, and a pair of hydraulic jacks 5, 10 which pivot the arm and jib. As shown in dotted line Fig. 1 a loading bucket 21 is pivoted to the arm about a pin 20 and is moved about this pivot by a jack 22, whilst as shown in full line in Fig. 1, and in Fig. 3, an extension arm 24 secured to arm 9 by pin 20 carries an excavating bucket 31 which is pivoted about a pin 29 by an extension 27 of the piston rod of jack 22, guide links 28 being pivoted to the pin 20 and to the piston rod at 23. In a modification (not shown) a swinging hook 33 (see Group XXX) is pivoted to arm 9.
