Abstract

863,270. Shovelling machines. FOGDEN, T. Aug. 27, 1958 [May 27, 1957], No. 16773/57. Class 68(1). [Also in Group XXX] A shovelling attachment for a tractor comprises a frame 1, 2, 3, Fig. 1, pivoted to the tractor and supported by the tractor lift links 6, the frame supporting, on trunnions 16, a shaft 14, secured to a boom 12. The scoop is plugged into the end of boom 12 and secured by a pin 30. The shaft 14 is rotated to luff the boom 12 by a double-acting hydraulic ram 20 secured to a sleeve 19 pivoted to the frame member 1 at 23 and connected by parallel links 18 to a plate 26, secured to the shaft 14 and pivoted to the piston rod 24 by means of links 25. A stop 29 on plate 26 engages an abutment 25a on link 25 when the ram 20 is fully extended, Fig. 8 (not shown). The boom may be detached from the shaft 14 and reversed for use as a rear loader.
