Abstract

917,535. Shovelling machines. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. (Ford Motor Co.). April 21 1961, No. 14476/61. Class 68 (1). [Also in Group XXX] A boom 31, provided with a scoop 34, is pivoted at 32 to the upper end of the limb 12 of an L-shaped frame 10 secured to one side of a tractor and is luffed by an hydraulic ram 51 pivoted between the boom and the rear end of the horizontal limb 11 of the frame. The rear of the frame 10 is secured to a member 16 detachably connected to a mounting pad 17 secured to the side of the tractor. The leg 11 of the frame is inwardly inclined and terminates in a pin portion 25 which is received within a hole in a plate 27 secured to the tractor engine. The scoop 34 is pivotally supported at 37 on members 36 secured to a transverse member 35 on the end of the boom 31 and is normally engaged by a latch mechanism, Fig. 4 (not shown), operated by a rod extending along the boom and terminating adjacent the steering- wheel of the tractor.
