Abstract

955,047. Agricultural loaders. J. HODGKINSON. June 20, 1962, No. 23692/62. Heading B8H. An agricultural loader for mounting on a vehicle is of the fork type and is adapted to receive a bucket which is supported on the prongs of the fork and attached to the loader, thereby converting the fork-type loader into a bucket-type loader. As shown, prongs 10 are mounted in a fork holding means 8 which has a back-plate 11 and is pivoted to a holding member 3 along an axis 9. The base of a bucket 24, Fig. 2, rests on the prongs 10 and completely covers their forward ends. Tab-pieces 25 are bolted to the fork holding means 8 at 25a. The bucket may be extended on both sides, one extension being shown, Fig. 3, which is attached to the bucket by bolts passing through holes 33, and to the holding means 8 by bolts through holes 36. A top grab 18 is pivoted to the top of the holding means 8 and is operated by a ram 20. A catch 12, controlled by a lever 17 may be withdrawn to allow the means 8 to pitch forwardly for discharging. Main supports 1 are pivoted on mounts 4 which are bolted to the rear axle of a tractor. A ram 6, mounted on a tractor top link 7 is connected to the supports 1 by a yoke 5.
