Abstract

824,241. Load handling attachments for tractors. FEWSTERS Ltd., [formerly FEWSTERS (STOCKSFIELD) Ltd.]. Dec. 1, 1955 [Oct. 8, 1954; Dec. 17, 1954], Nos. 29109/54 and 36585/54. Class 78 (3). A fork lift mast f is mounted on the draft links h of a tractor and is tilted forwardly of the tractor to stabilize the load, by a ram k pivoted to the mast and tractor at n1 and k1, and/or by upward movement of the arms. A cross-bar (not shown), slidable in a slot c1 and secured to the free ends of links c2, engages a catch when the mast is fully tilted and so relieves the tractor hydraulic system during transport of the load. This catch mechanism is also arranged to retain the links h in their fully lowered position. The ram k, and a ram (not shown) which effects raising of the fork f4, are connected to the tractor hydraulic system. In a modification (Fig. 1, not shown), the ram k is replaced by a rigid link. A towing hook o is provided on the mast.
