Abstract

833,499. Agricultural implements. MASSEYHARRIS-FERGUSON (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd. May 23, 1957 [May 30, 1956], No. 16695/56. Class 6(1). A transport device for an implement comprises an auxiliary wheel unit fitted to the implement so that it may be arranged in a raised or lowered position or removed completely. As shown applied to a wheeled implement, wheels 28 are mounted in a cranked axle 30 suspended on a hook member 32 fixed to a frame member 11. Arms 34, 38 fixed to the axle are provided with holes which engage in pins 36, 39 respectively to hold the axle in a lowered position as shown. When the axle is in the raised position the pin 39 is engaged by a hole in an arm 49 and a pin 48 is engaged by a hole 47 in the arm 34. To transport the implement a tube 26 is connected to an extension of the axle of wheel 13 and to a drawbar connected to power lifting links in a tractor. When the implement is raised by the tractor as shown in Fig. 2 the wheels 28 are lowered into position and the implement is lowered into the wheel 28. The tube 26 is attached to the extension 25a of the axle of the wheel 13a and that end of the implement is raised by the tractor linkage so that the implement may be hauled away.
