Abstract

729,416. Tractor power take off mechanisms. SCOTTISH MECHANICAL LIGHT INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Dec. 4, 1953, No. 33748/53. Class 79(2). [Also in Group XXX] A platform 30, 31 (see Group XXX) secured to the power operated draft mechanism at the back of a tractor supports one or more countershafts, or a gear box driven by the usual power take off shaft on the tractor. The lifting mechanism is provided with a telescopic bar 35, 36 which can be locked by a pin 38 in a number of positions of extension to relieve the hydraulic mechanism of the weight of the load, and which can also limit the movement of the platform by means of a pin and slot connection between the parts 35, 36. Modified bars are illustrated in Figs. 9 and 10 (not shown). The platform is provided with a number of spaced pivot pins of different sizes (not shown) to facilitate attachment to the draft links of different makes of tractors.
