Abstract

627,663. Scoop-arm machines. KOEHRING CO. July 9, 1947, No. 18175. Convention date, Feb. 14, 1940. [Class 68 (i)] The hoisting cable 24 of a scoop-arm machine passes from the winch drum on the excavator turn table over the centre pulley of three axially-aligned pulleys 23, mounted at the outer end of the boom 12, around a hoist pulley 20 secured to the scoop 13, back over a second one of the pulleys 23, around a sheave 22, which is secured to the boom at some distance from its end, and then passes over the third of the pulleys 23 to be dead-ended at 25 on the bail 21 connecting the block 20 to the scoop. When a twoinstead of a three-part hoist line is required, the cable is arranged as above except that having passed around the pulley 22 it is dead-ended on itself.
