Abstract
717,583. Shuttleless looms. BADDELEY, C. H. Oct. 28, 1952 [Aug. 4, 1951], No. 18508/51. Class 142(2) A loop of weft inserted by a weft inserter is trapped by a needle 10 mounted on a shaft 2 carried by the slay S. A lever 17 pivoted to a bracket 16 is cranked and weighted at its lower end; its upper end can engage a recess in a collar secured to shaft 2. On a backward movement of the slay a rod 15 depending from shaft 2 engages a projection operated by the low shaft thereby turning shaft 2 and moving needle 10 into engagement with the slay, whereupon rod 17 engages in the recess. On the return movement of the slay the weighted end of rod 17 engages a cam surface, disengaging its upper end from the recess and enabling a chain 4 and weight 5 to rotate shaft 2 and release the needle
