Abstract

683,147. Loom stop motions; change box motions. COURTAULDS, Ltd. Feb. 28, 1951 [March 1, 1950], No. 5166/50. Classes 142(i) and 142(iii) A loom having drop boxes actuated through an escape motion 6 is stopped if the pawl 9 of the escape motion is forced out of the notch 10 in the box rod 1 owing to movement of the boxes being obstructed. A lever 12, pivoted on the pawl 9 and carrying a roller 13 resting against the box rod 1, pulls a cable 14 which brings a striker on the slay into line with a member on the breast beam, whereby the starting handle shaft is turned to the "stop" position. Specification 497,352 and 14009/07, [Class 142], are referred to.
