Abstract
721,192. Automatic bobbin-changing in looms. COEURTYS SOC. ANON. May 24, 1950 [May 25, 1949], No. 13081/50. Class 142 (2). In a loom in which a depleted shuttle passes through the normal shuttle box 8 into a box 6 for bobbin changing, the braking pressure is removed, despite pressure on the swell 7 by the stop motion finger 36, by allowing the other end of the swell to swing out of the box. Each swell is pivoted at 10 to a lever 9 and is normally held operative by the tail 9c of the lever riding on a rail 12 or on a block 15 which normally bridges a gap in the rail ; when bobbin changing is initiated, the block 15 is depressed to the position shown, whereby the tail 9c can enter the gap in the rail 12 when the arriving shuttle strikes and displaces the swell 7.
