Abstract

714,686. Indicating-apparatus. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. March 28, 1952 [April 2, 1951], No. 7646/51. Class 106 (4) A panel monting case for electrical equipment having a flange to bear against the panel has resilient strips secured to the part of the casing that passes through the panel, the strips being deformed to provided resilient members which engage the side of the hole in the panel and being provided at their ends which extend beyond the rear of the casing with apertures for the reception of detachable lugs carrying screws which bear against the rear of the panel to clamp the flange of the case against the front of the panel panel. In Fig. 1 three steel strips 9 are spot welded at equidistant point around the case 1. Each strip has a tongue 10 which is bent up to form a leaf spring. These tongues engage the edge of the hole in the panel 2 so as to hold the case in position when it is inserted from the front of the panel. The strips 10 have at their rear ends rectangular apertures 11 through which lugs 12 are inserted radially outwards. The lugs 12 are threaded to receive clamping screws 13 which press against the rear face of the panel 2 and clamp the case firmly in position. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which an instrument case 15 is fitted in a panel 16 which is thicker than the depth of the case. Flat strips 17 are secured to the case 15 and project rearwardly. They are provided with apertures to receive the hooked end of a member 18, the other end of which extends over the rear edge of the panel 16 and is threaded to take a clampmg screw 19.
