Abstract
494,017. Indicating-apparatus. LISTER, H., and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. April 21, 1937, No. 11423. [Class 106 (iv)] Means for mounting indicating-instruments on switchboards comprises a bezel having a projecting cylindrical part adapted to pass into an aperture in the switchboard or panel from the front through which aperture the bezel will not pass and to receive the cylindrical part of the instrument to be mounted, and clamping means by which the cylindrical part of the bezel may be firmly attached to the instrument. The clamping means is provided with locating screws the ends of which abut against the back of the panel and by which the instrument with the cylindrical part of the bezel may be forced backwards away from the rear face of the panel so as to maintain the instrument in position with the rear face of the bezel closely applied to the front face of the panel. In assembling the instrument 3 shown in Figs. 1, 3, the slotted cylindrical part 5 of the bezel 4 is passed through the aperture 2 in the panel 1 and a split clamping ring 8 is slipped over it. The cylindrical part 6 of the instrument is passed into 5 and secured thereto by the bent-up ends 9 of ring 8 being brought tightly together by means of a nut and screw 10 passing through them. The locating screws 12, passing through brackets 11 on the ring 8 and freely carrying resilient bowed strips 13, are then screwed up so as to draw the whole rearwardly until the bezel bears tightly against the panel-front. According to the Provisional Specification, one end 9 may threadedly receive the screw 10. In Fig. 6, the panel is of greater thickness than the length of the bezel-cylinder 5, and accordingly the latter is apertured at 16 to receive the ends 15 of clamps 14 which are bent over and secured by screws 17 and nuts 20 to channelstraps 19 welded in an annular rebated part 18 of the back plate of the instrument. Screws 17 also secure brackets 21 carrying locating screws 22 as shown in Fig. 1.
