Abstract
811,228. Two-part couplings. VOLEX ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS Ltd. Aug. 1, 1957 [May 29, 1956], No. 16519/56. Class 38 (1). [Also in Groups XXV and XXXVII] A panel mounting for an electrical fitting comprises a clamping bar disposed behind the fitting and connected thereto by screws, together with spring means to keep the bar and fitting apart during bayonet type engagement of the bar with a panel opening. The screws are then tightened to clamp the panel edges between bar and fitting. Fig. 3 shows a switch plate C held by screws G, H against a panel D. The screws G, H engage threaded holes in a bar L and also carry compression springs. The hole A in the panel D is mainly circular and has two lobes E which admit the bar L. After the bar L has been inserted the switch plate C is aligned and the screws G, H are tightened. An alternative form of bar, Fig. 6 (not shown), may be used for a socket outlet which has a deep base.
