The insulating separator plates for a multiway terminal block are mounted in adjacent pairs 7, 8 on insulated rods 1, 2 attached at one end to mounting bracket 5 and between each pair a terminal member 11 is supported by a tongue projecting from the member and fitting in slot 10 in plate 8. The provision of spacing washers 20 and spring 21 ensures rigidity when mounting bracket 6 is fitted and locked by tongue 24 fitting hole 22. Wires are clamped in one half of channel member 12 by screw 16 pressing on contact strip 17. The screws 16 are threaded into block 14 the other end of which (not shown) projects to form the locating tongue. An indicator strip 26 may be fitted over tags 25.
