Abstract

1,043,816. Plug boards; two part couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. June 21, 1965 [Aug. 10, 1964], No. 32446/64. Heading H2E. An electrical coupling device comprises a plurality of flat metal plates 1, each having projecting tabs 2 which, in use, are engaged by socket connectors, the tabs being mounted between insulating blocks 3, 9 and 7, and the whole assembly held together and mounted on a base - plate by insulated screws 5 passing through holes 6. A steel clamping plate 10 having upturned sides 11 to increase its rigidity is interposed between the upper plate and screw heads. In a modification the insulating blocks have parts which project beyond the metal plates and the securing screws pass through these projections. In a further embodiment (Figs. 6-8, not shown) each metal plate is moulded to a rectangular block of insulating material, the plate being held firmly by the material flowing into the holes 6 in the plate. The blocks in this embodiment have projecting portions through which the mounting screws pass.
