Abstract

1,050,005. Terminal boards and blocks. BUCHANAN ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Sept. 22, 1964 [Oct. 2, 1963], No. 38677/64. Heading H2E. An electrical terminal block assembly comprises a plurality of removable sections, 14, and an end section 12 having complementary configurations whereby they may be nested together. The end section 12, which has a wall part 24, has two identical faces and a base 18 having a fastening portion 26 and a nesting portion 28, Fig. 3 (not shown). The contact section also has a wall section 44, one face 50 of which has the same configuration as the faces of the end section, while the other face 53 of the contact section has an electrical contact 58 attached thereto, the contact section also having a nesting portion 54 and a fastening portion 56. The assembly is fastened to either a rail or a flat surface by means of screws passing through the fastening portions and engaging either a clamp 40 engaged beneath flanges 80 on the rail, or the flat base. Further sections may be added to an assembly without first having to remove any fastening means as the nesting recess 54 engages over the fastening portion of an adjacent contact. The contact 58 comprises a metallic tube having screws 60 to clamp the wires, the contact being retained in a recess in section 14. A cover (not shown) may be supported by pivot pins 96, 98, 104 and 106. A portion 110 of the contact section is recessed to receive indicia.
