Abstract

566,759. Distribution boards. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES OF AUSTRALIA PTY., Ltd. Feb. 12, 1943, No. 2384. Convention date, Feb. 6, 1942. [Class 38 (i)] A connection block assembly comprises a channel-shaped metal mounting strip 8 into which slide insulating blocks 6 having a terminal or terminals 9 moulded into them, end blocks 18 serving to hold the blocks 6 in place. The inturned edges 7 of the strip 8 fit over beads on the blocks 6, 18, the latter being secured by bolts passing through holes 22 which may also serve for mounting the assembly. The blocks 6 may have holes 14 drilled through both the insulation and the insert 9, a pair of screws 13 clamping leads inserted from each end.of the holes. Alternatively, two separate inserts 26, Fig. 4, are used and connected by a strip 29, the leads, or lugs attached thereto, being clamped under the heads of the screws 13. Separating flanges 11 are formed on the blocks 6.
