Abstract

583,598. Distribution boards and panels; binding posts. PARTRIDGE, WILSON, & CO., Ltd., and YATES, W. R. Nov. 10, 1944, No. 22155. [Class 38 (i)]. A connecting block for electrical installations comprises a plurality of substantially identical rectangular dielectric units 2 having recesses 3 accommodating metal inserts 4, the units being assembled on a support 1, with dielectric separators 13, and held between end pieces 10. The open side of each recess 3 is closed by the next unit 2, the adjacent separator 13 or an end piece 10. The support 1 may be T-shaped or dovetailed to engage corresponding slots. at the bottoms of the respective parts, and carries slightly springy parts 7 to keep the units in position. Each unit 2 has a recess 11 accommodating the terminal screws 5 of inserts 4 which have cable entries 12. The terminals may be shielded by covering strips 20.
