July 20, 1959 [July 19, 1958], No. 24910/59. Class 146 (2). An electrical experimental kit box comprises a plastic chassis 1 having a horizontal mounting plate 2 provided with parallel grooves 14 and an inclined front wall 3. Experimental component are mounted on the plate 2 for interconnection and connection to a current source by support members having a clamping fit in the grooves preferably by means of clamping springs mounted panels 25 supporting the components. The springs may be provided in pairs spaced apart by a distance equal to that between adjacent grooves. The chassis 1 may contain certain components connected to control knobs on the front wall 3. Connection to the components may be made by means of contact clamps such as 18, Fig. 3, comprising a pin 19 and a sleeve 23 having bores 20, 22 which can be aligned by pressure against a spring 24 to allow the insertion of a wire which on release of the sleeve is held by spring pressure.
