Abstract

943,968. Moving-coil instruments. ROLA CELESTION Ltd. Feb. 12, 1962 [March 3, 1961], No. 7878/61. Heading H4J. A pÚrmanent magnet 10 projects from the centre of the inner bottom wall 12 of a U- or cup-shaped yoke 13 of ferro-magnetic material and extends through a hole 15 in a front plate 16 also of ferro-magnetic material, the permanent magnet 10 being secured by means of two deformable cup-shaped washers 19 clamped between the front plate 16 and the bottom of the yoke 13. In assembly, the permanent magnet 10 is located by the insertion of a jig 22 in the hole 15, and clamping screws 17 are then tightened, deforming the washers 19 (which are formed of thin resilient metal such as brass or phosphor bronze) so that they grip the permanent magnet 10 and urge it against the inner bottom wall 12 of the yoke 13.
