Terminals are provided on resistance elements of molybdenum disilicide by grinding or turning the end of the element 1 at 2 sand-blasting said end and spraying on a coating 3 of aluminium which is then machined and polished to provide a contact surface which may be engaged by a clamp 13, Fig. 2, secured to the element by a bolt 14 which also clamps a connecting lug 9 to the clamp.
