Abstract

545,131. Indicating-apparatus. LISTER, H., and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Jan. 9, 1941, No. 328. Addition to 494,017. [Class 106 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] In the instrument mounting means claimed in the parent Specification, the cylindrical portion of the bezel and the clamping ring are provided with cooperating abutment surfaces and the ring carries means by which the instrument may be rigidly clamped thereto from its rear end. The split cylindrical portion 5 of the bezel 4 is provided with a number of circularly distributed abutments 5a formed by sheared and pressed-out tongues, so that the clamping-ring 8 engages them when forced rearwardly by turning the screws 12, which pass through threaded holes in brackets 11 on the clamping-ring 8 and carry pads 13 pressing against the back of the panel 1. The screws 12 are extended and pass through unthreaded holes in the normal fixing lugs 7a on the base plate 7 of the instrument. The screwed rods 12 have central hexagon portions 12b and are provided with nuts 12c engaging each side of the lugs 7a. The axial-direction clamping means may be separate from the means by which the clamping ring is pushed away 'from the back of the panel. The clamping and pushing screws may be replaced by cams, &c. The axial-direction clamping screws may be replaced by angle bars each of which is secured or hinged at one end to the clamping ring whilst the other end has its angle portion passing behind the back plate of the instrument and provided with screws or cams.
