[Also in Divisions Gl, H1 and H2] A housing for carrying electrical apparatus such as relays, meters or other electrical instruments, comprises a back portion 10, Fig. 1, a portion 11 forming the side walls of the housing, a cover 9, Fig. 4, and a detachable flange 12 disposed between the portion 11 and the cover and extending laterally outwards, and having, connected thereto and extending rearwardly therefrom, one or more clamp supporting members 14, each having associated therewith a screw operated clamp 16 so that the housing can be mounted substantially flush with a panel 13 by locating the portion 11 in an aperture in the panel and clamping the panel around the edges of the aperture between each clamp and the flange; the back portion 10 is adapted, as by the provision of tapped holes therein, for connection to the panel when a projecting mounting is desired. As shown, the housing is of generally square form having a clamp supporting member screwed, welded or brazed at each corner of the flange. Each clamp supporting member comprises a channelshaped strip having a pair of keyhole slots 20 into which a pair of headed projections 19 on a block 17 of the clamp are inserted. The cover is provided with captive nuts 24 which engage screws 9a which also secure the flange to the portion 11, a sealing member 25 being interposed between them.
