Abstract

1,222,055. Clip. SIEMENS A.G. 10 Feb., 1969 [8 Feb., 1968], No. 7180/69. Heading E2B. A device, for mounting an electrical component (not shown) on a support rail 1 having opposed parallel flanges 18, 19 projecting in opposite directions away from each other, comprises a strip form member having respective opposite end portions 3, 4, bent backwardly from an intermediate portion 2 and towards one another for engagement respectively behind the two flanges 18, 19, when the intermediate portion is arranged across the front faces of the two flanges, each end portion being provided with a screw threaded aperture 5 or 6, which may be provided by attached nuts, and the intermediate portion being provided with two apertures 7, or 8, which register respectively with the aperture 5, or 6, to enable respective securing screws (9, Figs. 5 and 6, not shown) extending through an electrical component (22, 23), positioned adjacent the intermediate portion when the device is in use, to be passed through that portion to engage with the apertures 5, or 6, the apertures being arranged to be clear of the flanges when the device is in use. The free ends of the end portions are spaced from each other at least as far as the distance between the free ends of the rail flanges, so that the device may be placed on 'the rail and the flanges then engaged by rotation of the device. The corners of the end portions are cut away to facilitate this rotation. In the rotated position locating portions 10, 11, fall between the inner edges of the rail flanges and locating portions 30, 31 abut the outer edges.
