Abstract

975,422. Clamps; releasable fastenings. CHAMBERLAIN & HOOKHAM Ltd. March 13, 1962 [March 18, 1961], No. 9974/61. Headings E2A and E2B. [Also in Divisions Gl, H1 and H2] A housing for electrical apparatus e.g. relays, meters &c., comprises a body portion forming the side walls of the housing, a removable cover portion 12, and a detachable flange 13 which is secured between the body portion and the cover portion when the housing is flush-mounted on a panel 15, the flange projecting laterally beyond the cover portion and co-operating with a plurality of clamps 22, detachably mounted on the body portion, to secure the housing to the panel. The flange 13 is attached to the body portion by bolts 17, which are also engaged by captive nuts 20 on the cover portion 12. When a projecting mounting of the housing is required, the flange 13 is not used; the cover portion is attached directly to the body portion and the latter is provided with apertured lugs at its rear end to enable it to be bolted to the panel. Sealing elements 23, 24 are provided on the flange and the cover portion respectively.
