Abstract

1,032,403. Indicator lamp fittings. AMP Inc. Nov. 4, 1964 [Nov. 29, 1963], No. 44919/64. Heading F4R. [Also in Division H2] An insulating housing for mounting a component such as an indicator lamp 17 in a panel comprises a lamp carrier LC having a pair of posts 20 formed with slots 21 in which the lamp leads W are clamped by means of connectors 22 adapted to be releasably engaged over the posts. The lamp carrier has a pair of bosses 19 which engage releasably in apertures 13 in a resilient insulating sleeve 9 when the carrier is inserted therein. The sleeve is closed at one end by a lens 10 and can be slidably engaged in an outer resilient insulating sleeve 1 which is adapted to be inserted into an aperture in a panel and held therein by an annular flange 2 and resilient triangular fins 6 the forward inclined edges of which exert a camming action on the rear face of the panel and hold the sleeve securely in position. Receptacles 31 connected to the electrical supply conductors are releasably held in a resilient plastics carrier RC having a pair of bosses 23 to mate releasably with apertures 7 in the sleeve 1. Tabs 22c of the connectors 22 extend through slots 24<SP>1</SP> in the forward end of the carrier RC and mate with the receptacles.
