Abstract

939,117. Two part couplings; cases for couplings. J. A. KOZMIK, and L. O. LANGFORD. March 30, 1962, No. 12410/62. Class 38 (1). A box such as 66 (Fig. 5) designed to fit in a wall carries a socket member such as 45, a casing such as 25 (Fig. 3) which fits into the box having apertures in its rear wall into which socket outlets such as 45 can fit so as to be engageable by plug 44 which is then wholly within the casing. Casing 25 has a flange 36 to which is hinged a cover 50 which may be spring biased to the closed position and which is provided with openings for the leads and a screw 60 which threads into a tapped hole in the flange to retain the cover in the closed position. As an alternative (Fig. 7, not shown), the cover may be in two sections slidably mounted on the casing. In a further embodiment (Fig. 8, not shown), the socket may be in an opening in the side wall of the casing.
