Abstract

1,202,348. Two-part couplings. HOLLANDSCHE DRAAD - EN KABELFABRIEK N.V. 12 June, 1969 [14 June, 1968], No. 29887/69. Heading H2E. The plug member and the socket member of a two-part coupling has each a support member 2, as shown in the case of the plug member for contact pins, with a flange 5 having a series of apertures 6 through which the support member is secured releasably, e.g. by self tapping screws 7 received in some of the 12 evenly spaced apertures 4 of an annular shoulder 3 of the housing 1. An aperture 9 is provided in the support 2 to accommodate a locating element, e.g. a stud, which is permanently secured to one of the 12 apertures to obtain the desired orientation of the support with respect to the housing. To ensure that the plug and socket members may be engaged only in one way the earthing pin A of e.g. 5 pins RSTNA for a 3-phase connection is made larger and the corresponding socket element (A<SP>1</SP>) longer. Additionally a tongue 10 may be provided in the plug member for entry into a groove (11) of the socket member.
