Abstract

714,600. Grease-gun couplings. TECALEMIT, Ltd., and COLLINGWOOD, T. W. Sept. 18, 1952 [Oct. 10, 1951], No. 23626/51. Class 99 (1). A device for securing a grease-gun coupling member 14 to a nipple having a front conical surface 28 und a rear spherical surface 29 comprises a spring circlip 18 housed in an annular groove 16 at the mouth of the coupling member. A dirt-cutting edge 30 of the nipple engages a spherical seat 15 in the coupling member, in which a spring-loaded non-return valve 24 is provided. Alternatively a separate seating ring 33, Fig. 4, is provided in the bore 34 of member 14 and held against a shoulder 35 by the valve spring 25. A resilient packing ring 37 is held against the chamfered surface 36 of ring 33 by a metal washer 38. The ring 33 may itself consist of resilient packing material, the rings 37, 38 being dispensed with. Specification 430,827 is referred to.
