Abstract
714,452. Magnetrons. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 10, 1952 [April 14, 1951], No. 9240/52. Class 39(1) A cavity magnetron, preferably of the type having an H-section waveguide output from one of the cavities, comprises an anode block 1, Fig. 3. and two end blocks, of which one is shown in Fig. 4, and is characterized in that the anode block is provided with a raised or a lowered edge 5 having a circular boundary which lies eccentrically with respect to the discharge space, the end blocks being of corresponding shape and the blocks being soldered only at the outer edge. The blocks may be so arranged that between the lowered edge 5 of the anode block and the corresponding edge 22 of an end block there is a space of a few hundredths of a millimetre for accommodating the solder. At its outer boundary this space may be deepened to form a groove into which a wire or a strip of solder can be secured. The ridge 4 prevents solder from running into the end spaces or into the output waveguide. Specification 714,450 is referred to.
