Abstract
701,871. Thermionic cathode constructions. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Feb. 5, 1952 [Feb. 8, 1951], No. 3008/52. Class 39(1) In a dispenser cathode of the type having an internal supply of an alkaline earth metal compound behind a wall of porous refractory metal, the pores of the latter are closed at portions of the cathode surface from which emission is not required. The figure shows an example with the pores of the end surface 9 closed over the cross-hatched parts 5 and 8. The pores can be closed by grinding or rubbing.
