Abstract
In the production of hydroxylamine by catalytic reduction of nitric oxide with hydrogen in an acid medium in the presence of a platinum catalyst, the reduction is carried out at a temperature above 40 DEG C., e.g. up to 60 DEG C. The nitric oxide and hydrogen are led while stirring into a suspension of platinum in hydrochloric acid at about 45 DEG C.
