Abstract

A thermoset heat-treated moulded product is obtained by reacting under heat and pressure a mixture of chrysotile asbestos fibres and orthophosphoric acid and subjecting the resultant product to a temperature of from 800-1000 DEG C. The preferred proportions are 2 to 3.5 parts of asbestos to each part of concentrated phosphoric acid. Zircon may be used as a filler.
