Abstract

Finely-divided silica, suitable as a filler for rubber and plastics and in the production of fluorescent materials, is produced from the silica by-product obtained in the acid treatment of ores containing fluorine and silicates by heating the by-product to a temperature above 600 DEG C.ALSO:Finely divided silica, produced by heating to a temperature above 600 DEG C. the silica by-product obtained in the acid treatment of ores containing fluorine and silicates, is suitable as a filler for rubber.
