Abstract
A free-running normal lead 2, 4-dinitroresorcinate is made by mixing at a temperature not below 60 DEG C. an aqueous solution of normal lead acetate and an aqueous solution containing a magnesium salt of 2,4-dinitroresorcinol having about 1/2 to 3/4 of the quantity of magnesium present in the normal salt. The lead acetate and the magnesium salt are admixed in equimolecular quantities.
