710,499. Labelling machines. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. March 6, 1952 [March 9, 1951], No. 5687/51. Class 73 A labelling machine for applying thermo-adhesive sealing labels to packets held in pockets 14 of a rotatable carrier 12 has a label magazine 11 from which labels are extracted by a pivoted suction member 34. Transfer grippers 39, 41 reciprocating horizontally along guide rails 43 seize the label held by the member 34 and transfer it to a position above a vertically reciprocating pressing member 16 which has suction applied to its face to pick up the label from the transfer grippers 39, 41 and has a heating element 31 which activates the adhesive as it presses the label against a packet to apply it thereto.
