709,846. Closure caps. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Jan. 22, 1952 [Jan 27, 1951], No. 1720/52. Class 125 (3) [Also in Group XXVII] The cover member 58 of a combined engine oil filler tube and air filter (see also Group XXVII) is held by a pair of spring clips 70 passing through slots in a housing flange 80; the outer ends 88 of the clips 70 are extended to facilitate manipulation when replacing a filter unit. The funnel 94 which is sealed with member 58 has its lower end extending into the tube 26 and the member 58 has a cap 97 secured thereto that consists of inner and outer cup members 112 and 108 between which is an annular spring 116 that forces a gasket against a part 100 of the member 58, a bayonet joint 106, 122 being arranged between part 100 and cup_member 112. A bar 124 on top of member 108 is formed with finger grips 126 whilst to the rivet 130 securing the cap assembly is attached a chain 132, the other end of wh:ch is fixed to the funnel 94.
