708,337. Reciprocating pump. KLOPP, F. Oct. 30, 1950 [Oct. 31, 1949], No. 26465/50. Class 102 (1). [Also in Group XXIX] A hydraulic transmission comprises a radial cylinder pump having a rotor 13 mounted on a stationary distributing valve 3 and driven through a clutch 18 by an electric motor 19, and/or a radial cylinder motor having a rotor 29 connected through a clutch 34 carrying a pinion 36. The pistons 15, 16 of the pump and the pistons 31, 32 of the motor are arranged in pairs and have part spherical ends which engage the oppositely inclined frusto-conical surfaces 21, 22 and 38, 39 respectively of bearing rings 20, 37 respectively. These bearing rings are rotatably mounted on roller bearings in members 24, 41 respectively pivoted on eccentrically disposed pins 27, 42 respectively of a bolt 44, and the members may be rocked about their pivots, for varying the stroke of both the pump and motor pistons, by means of a rotatable bolt 45, which has eccentric pins 28, 43 engaging in slots 46 of the members. The inclined surfaces 21, 22, 38, 39 may alternatively be of part-spherical form.
