722,004. Revolving radial cylinder pumps. CARTERS GEARS Ltd. May 8, 1952. [May 15, 1951] No. 11312/51. Class 102 (1). [Also in Group XXIX] A hydraulic pump comprises a rotary fluid pressure unit including a rotary cylinder block 2 having pistons 5 with crown portions 6, parts of which engage a rotary pressure ring 8 which has a tapered face 7, the block 2 having built up cylinder walls 10 to guide the pistons against laterial thrust throughout their strokes. The eccentricity of the ring 8 relative to the axis of the block may be varied on one or both sides of the axis. The pressure ring may comprise the inner ring of a ball bearing as shown in Fig. 3 which also shows a double unit, in which case one or both of the rings may be adjusted together or independently.
