Abstract

1,220,146. Hydraulic motor. DAVY & UNITED ENG. CO. Ltd. July 18, 1969 [July 19, 1968], No.34507/68. Heading F1A. In a hydraulic motor having a plurality of radial cylinders, each piston 4 is cylindrical and bears upon an eccentric or cam 5 via a cylindrical roller 7. Each piston has a passage 9 connecting the associated working chamber with a space behind the roller 7 to provide a hydrostatic bearing between the piston 4 and roller 7. The cylinders may also be axially arranged in which case each roller may be tapered. Hydraulic fluid leaking past the rollers 7 into the interior of the motor casing escapes through a passage 10 in a roller-retaining plate 8.
