Abstract

580,320. Reciprocating pumps. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO., Ltd., PRIOR, D. L., and SADLER, F. A. D. June 12, 1944, No. 11242. [Class 102 (i)] In a radial-cylinder reciprocating pump in which the pistons-24 are actuated by a sleeve 32 mounted on roller bearings 33 on a crank pin 16, each piston has a diametrical groove in its face, the cross section of this groove being greater than a semicircle and a pin 35 is held in this groove. The ends of the pin 35 project from the piston and retaining rings 37 engage these projections so that the whole length of the pin abuts the driving sleeve 32. In modifications, the driving sleeve 32 may rotate directly on the crank pin, the roller bearing being omitted or the pins may bear directly on the crank pin 16.
