568,252. Centrifugal pumps. SCHWEIZERISCHE LOKOMOTIV-UND MASCHINENFABRIK. Dec. 13, 1943, No. 20857. Convention date, Nov. 7, 1942. [Class 110 (i)] In a liquid ring pump, the bear ings 4a of the rotor shaft 3 are connected to the liquid ring space 13 by ducts 10 and chambers 11 enclosing packing rings 8 pressed against shoulders 9 on the shaft by springs 7. The space 13 may be replenished through ports 12 and ducts 10. The circulating liquid cools and lubricates the bearings.
