[Also in Groups XXIII and XXV] In order to tighten or free the coupling nut C of a hose pipe a lug D of the nut is engaged within a slot B of a lever A, the slot being located adjacent the rounded end E of the lever, which is adapted to be pivotally engaged with one of a series of holes G or other suitable abutments provided in or on a ring F, which is in a fixed position relative to the hose coupling member on to which the nut screws. The slot is of triangular form so that the lever is forced towards the ring when pressure is applied in a direction transversely of the hose.
