Class 125 (3) A tamperproof closure has a screw threaded inner member 4 applied to the bottle or other container and having a lip 6 with an undercut edge 7, and an outer member 10 engaged over the member 4 to prevent access thereto, the lip 6 having resilient lock portions 8 defined by cuts 9 and the member 10 having tenons 11, 12 (not shown) so that downward pressure on the outer cap causes the tenons to ride over portions 8 and engage under the edge 7 to prevent subsequent removal but allowing rotation of the outer cap. The inner member has resilient catches 13 and stops 15 and the outer member has studs 16 aligned on the same circumference as catches 13. Clockwise rotation of the outer member is prevented by the engagement of larger tenons 11 with stops 15 but on anti-clockwise rotation studs 16 will ride over catches 13 until tenons 11 come up against the stops 15 so that once this rotation has been made the outer member cannot move back again but continued anti-clockwise rotation unscrews the closure as a whole. The outer member has a window 17 which after the rotation discloses a message that the container has been opened or tampered with. In a modification (Fig. 8) an inner member 21 has on its horizontal top surface four stops 28 which locate a spring washer 29 having four inclined upstanding resilient catches 30 and on the inside surface of the outer member 26 are two studs 31 which engage the catches and stops, riding over the catches when rotated anti-clockwise but being restrained from relative rotation clockwise by the stops and thus exposing indication of tampering.
