[Also in Group XXIX] A knapsack sprayer comprises a liquid insecticide chamber a' and an air compression chamber a<SP>2</SP> in communication therewith and actuated by a diaphragm or like pump a<SP>3</SP> from a hand operated reciprocating rod b, so that pressure is exerted on the liquid to eject it through a nozzle outlet in spray form. An oscillatory agitator c is arranged in the insecticide chamber and is driven by gearing from the rod. The gearing may include bevel wheels, or a pin b<SP>3</SP> and a link c<SP>3</SP>, Fig. 3.
