Abstract
657,435. Liquid passing by gas pressure. FRANKERT, O. P. Feb. 7, 1949, No. 3344. [Class 102(ii)] [Also in Group XXIX] Apparatus for dispensing liquid from a closed container 51 has an air reservoir 52 charged by a pump 48 which also charges the container, the air in the reservoir being discharged into the liquid space within the container so as to agitate the liquid and maintain the pressure in the container for forcing the liquid through a pipe 60. The pump charges the reservoir through a pipe 53 and the container through a pipe 54, these pipes also providing communication between the reservoir and the container. The container may be vented by a valve 57 so that the pump may be used to agitate the liquid without building up pressure in the container. In another embodiment the air pump is mounted on the side of the container. The apparatus may be mounted on a truck and a motor driven air pump may then be used. Alternatively the apparatus may be carried on the back of an operator when used for spraying insecticides, disinfectants or paint.
