644,869. Spraying liquids in mines. PARRY, M. July 18, 1947, No. 19222. [Class 107] [Also in Groups XII and XXI] Dangerous gases are removed from mine-workings by an apparatus positioned on a wheeled trolley S, the apparatus comprising a manually operated pump J which withdraws the gas through a strainer box W into its cylinder through a non-return valve, and then compresses it so that it passes through valves situated in the piston, to be forced on the next stroke of the piston into a storage tank or expelled above ground where the gas may be used for industrial purposes. Any coal dust is laid by spraying with a jet of water and air carried in containers T, U, on the trolley.
